I had this design in my head for a while. The idea here is that when in combat this spaceship releases these small laser gun pods that can also act as decoys. These gun pods are unmanned and can operate autonomously or with a pilot. They can maneuver with g-loads far exceeding anything a pilot can take, so somewhere upwards of 9g. Another cool little thing here is the aerospike engines, the rectangular shaped nozzles (real technology). These engines are more efficient then conventional rocket engines and way cooler looking. This is my fourth painting, I hope you enjoy it.

Interesting ships. They remind me of something from the Star Ocean game series.

Interesting designs! :) Modern pilots are trained to withstand sustained 9g accelerations during acrobatic maneuvers, and one man once withstood over 40g eye-balls out during a rapid stop in a rocket sled experiment (his vision suffered after the experiment, though)- so those drones had better be able to accelerate faster than that- maybe 50g+ (a Sprint missile accelerates at 100g). Greater accelerations might be withstood by immersing the pilot on oxygenated fluid. The claustrophobic had better not apply...

Cool scene, cool ships! It seems like the larger ship above the two share a similar design aesthetic, just a little bit. Not a criticism, just can see these two smaller ones playing escort to the bigger one.

Very cool! I the bigger ship looks very nice in the background! May I ask what program and what brushes did you use to make this? There really are no bland spots in your painting :)
